Caerus has an observation function called Development Diaries. These have been designed in line with the Scottish Curriculum. You can add a Development Diary by going into a Child's Profile and then:
Select the Actions button at the top right hand side of the page
You can then select from the following:
Development Diary - in the Development Diary you can add a child's experiences, learning outcomes, progression pathways and next steps and save to draft for approval or publish. You can also upload photos and short videos. Once published this will be saved in the child's profile, the parent/carer will get a notification of a new entry and they will be able to view, comment and/or acknowledge the post.
Diary - the diary is more of a daily update. In here you can note Activiites, log meals, bottles, nappy changes, sleeps, etc and you can also upload photos and short videos. Once published this will be saved in the child's profile, the parent/carer will get a notification of a new entry and they will be able to view, comment and/or acknowledge the post.
New Milestone - you can add any wow moments or new milestones and upload a photo along with it. Once published this will be saved in the child's profile, the parent/carer will get a notification of a new entry and they will be able to view, comment and/or acknowledge the post.
It is also possible to add Group Observations
You can do this from the Dashboard. If you go into the Session Register by clicking on View Session & Register you will see at the top of the register the option to Add Group Observation
Click on the Add Group Observation tab
Click on Children and check all the children you want to add to the Group Observation
Select Add New Entry
Add any notes you want to send to parents and a photo if required
Click on Add New Entry again
Once published this will be saved in the child's profile, the parent/carer will get a notification of a new entry and they will be able to view, comment and/or acknowledge the post.
There is also an overview page which you can find by clicking on the Performance tab and selecting the Development Diaries option
In here you can see which of your Team have added observations, which children have received them and any parent/carer interaction
