Caerus has an observation function called Development
Diaries. These have been designed in line with the Scottish Curriculum. You can
add a Development Diary by going into a Child's Profile and then: Select the
Actions button at the top right hand side of the page You can then select from
the following:
Development Diary - in the Development Diary you can add a
child's experiences, learning outcomes, progression pathways and next steps and
save to draft for approval or publish. You can also upload photos and short
videos. Once published this will be saved in the child's profile, the
parent/carer will get a notification of a new entry and they will be able to
view, comment and/or acknowledge the post.
Diary - the diary is more of a daily
update. In here you can note Activiites, log meals, bottles, nappy changes,
sleeps, etc and you can also upload photos and short videos. Once published
this will be saved in the child's profile, the parent/carer will get a
notification of a new entry and they will be able to view, comment and/or
acknowledge the post.
New Milestone - you can add any wow moments or new
milestones and upload a photo along with it. Once published this will be saved
in the child's profile, the parent/carer will get a notification of a new entry
and they will be able to view, comment and/or acknowledge the post.
It is also
possible to add Group Observations You can do this from the Dashboard. If you
go into the Session Register by clicking on View Session & Register you
will see at the top of the register the option to Add Group Observation Click
on the Add Group Observation tab Click on Children and check all the children
you want to add to the Group Observation Select Add New Entry Add any notes you
want to send to parents and a photo if required Click on Add New Entry again
Once published this will be saved in the child's profile, the parent/carer will
get a notification of a new entry and they will be able to view, comment and/or
acknowledge the post.
There is also an overview page which you can find by
clicking on the Performance tab and selecting the Development Diaries option In
here you can see which of your Team have added observations, which children
have received them and any parent/carer interaction
